FAQ
How the free vending machine program works
How does a free vending machine work in Australia?+
A vending operator installs a fully-stocked, cashless-ready commercial machine at your workplace at zero cost. They own the machine, deliver and install it, restock it, service every fault, insure it and remove it if you ever want it gone. Your staff pay retail per item at the machine — usually tap-to-pay — and that product margin is what funds the whole program. You supply floor space and a standard power outlet. That's the entire arrangement.
Free vs paid vending machines — which is right for our site?+
Free placement wins when you want zero admin, zero capital outlay and zero risk. You give up the commission stream to get it. Buying a machine (typically $6,000–$18,000) or leasing one makes sense if you have 100+ staff on-site all day, want to keep the margin, and have someone to restock and service it. For most Australian workplaces under 200 staff, the free model is more profitable in real terms once you cost in labour, stock, service and insurance.
What's the catch with free vending machines?+
The honest trade-off: no commission is paid to the workplace. Every dollar of margin funds the machine, the delivery van, restocking labour, cashless reader fees, telemetry, refrigeration power, insurance and repairs. If a supplier says 'free' then quotes a monthly service or top-up fee, that isn't the real free model — it's a lease dressed up.
Is the vending machine really 100% free?+
Yes. Zero delivery fee, zero install fee, zero maintenance charge and zero removal fee. The program is fully funded by product sales through the machine — staff simply pay for what they buy at the same prices you'd expect from a convenience store.
What size workplace qualifies for a free install?+
Any Australian workplace with 10+ regular staff or steady daily foot traffic typically qualifies. Smaller sites in high-traffic locations — reception areas, medical waiting rooms, gyms with 500+ members, remote camps — are often eligible too. Call 0401 662 678 and we'll qualify you in under two minutes.
How long does installation take across Australia?+
Capital-city metro installs (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra) usually happen within 7–14 days of a qualified request. Regional cities land in 10–21 days. Remote and FIFO sites are scheduled with your next crew changeover — typically 3–6 weeks.
Which states and territories do you cover?+
All eight — NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, ACT, TAS and NT. Every capital city and its metro suburbs, all major regional cities (Newcastle, Wollongong, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Bunbury, Mackay, Launceston, Alice Springs and more), plus remote mining, agricultural and infrastructure sites.
What products are stocked in the machines?+
A tailored mix of snacks, cold drinks, water, hot-food snacks and healthier options — chosen for your workplace and adjusted based on what actually sells. You can request additions, exclusions or category swaps any time.
How do staff pay?+
Cashless only — tap-to-pay contactless card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. No coins, no notes, no cash reconciliation for your business, no theft risk on site.
What happens if the machine breaks or runs out of stock?+
Every machine is telemetry-monitored, so our operations centre is alerted to low stock and mechanical faults automatically — usually before your staff notice. On-site service is dispatched at no cost, typically within one business day in capital cities and 2–3 days in regional areas.
Is there a contract, minimum term or lock-in?+
None. No lock-in contract, no minimum term, no early-exit fee. If the machine isn't working for your site, we collect it at no charge, any time you ask.
Can I choose where the machine goes on site?+
Yes. Our install crew does a free site check to recommend the best location based on foot traffic, power access, ventilation and safe egress, then confirms the final spot with you before install day.
How much power does the machine use?+
Our smart machines are energy-efficient and typically draw similar power to a small commercial fridge (150–300 W continuous). We cover all servicing and stocking costs; you cover the small electricity usage — usually under $5 per week per machine.
Can we brand the machine with our company logo?+
Yes — for qualifying multi-machine or high-traffic sites we can wrap the machine in your branding. Ask about it when you request.
Do you offer revenue share or commissions?+
For high-traffic sites (gyms, universities, transport hubs, hospitals) revenue-share arrangements are available. Talk to us about your daily foot traffic and we'll put a proposal in front of you.
