FAQ
How the free program works
The model itself — who owns the machine, who pays for what, and what the trade-off is.
How does a free vending machine actually work?+
A vending operator delivers, installs and stocks a commercial machine at your workplace at zero cost. They own it, restock it, service every fault and insure it. Your staff pay retail per item at the machine — almost always tap-to-pay — and that product margin funds the entire program. You supply floor space and a standard power outlet.
Is it genuinely 100% free, or are there hidden fees?+
Genuinely free: $0 delivery, $0 install, $0 servicing, $0 restocking, $0 insurance and $0 removal. If a supplier quotes you a monthly service fee, a top-up charge or a minimum-spend guarantee, that is a lease dressed up as a free placement — not the model we run.
What's the catch?+
The honest trade-off is commission. On a free placement no commission is paid to the workplace, because every dollar of margin funds the machine, the delivery van, restocking labour, cashless reader fees, telemetry, refrigeration power, insurance and repairs. High-traffic sites can discuss revenue share separately.
What size workplace qualifies?+
Any Australian workplace with roughly 10+ regular staff or steady daily foot traffic. Smaller sites in high-traffic locations — reception areas, medical waiting rooms, gyms, remote camps — are often eligible too. Call 0401 662 678 and we can qualify a site in about two minutes.
Is there a contract, minimum term or lock-in?+
No lock-in contract, no minimum term and no exit fee. If the machine isn't working for your site we collect it at no charge, any time you ask.
FAQ
Cost, contracts and commission
What the machine would otherwise cost, and where the money in a free placement actually goes.
What would the same machine cost to buy or lease?+
A new commercial snack or drink machine typically runs $6,000–$18,000 to buy outright, or roughly $150–$400 per month on a lease, before stock, restocking labour, servicing, cashless reader fees and insurance. The free placement removes all of that.
Do we pay for the electricity?+
Yes — that's the only running cost on your side. A modern machine draws similar power to a small commercial fridge (roughly 150–300 W continuous), which usually works out under $5 per week.
Is the machine insured?+
Yes. Public and product liability sit with the operator, and the machine itself is the operator's asset and insured as such. Your business carries no equipment risk.
Do you pay commission or revenue share?+
Not on a standard free placement. For high-traffic sites — large gyms, universities, hospitals, transport hubs — revenue-share arrangements are available. Tell us your daily foot traffic and we'll put a proposal together.
FAQ
Machines and products
Machine types, product mixes and healthy-eating policy support.
What types of machines can we get?+
Snack machines, drink and chiller machines, combination snack-and-drink units, frozen and hot-food units, bean-to-cup coffee machines, and smart fridges with camera or app-based checkout. The right unit depends on your headcount, floor space and what your staff actually buy.
Can we choose the products?+
Yes. You choose the product mix up front — drinks, snacks, coffee, healthy options, hot food — and you can request additions, exclusions or category swaps any time. Tell your vending owner operator or the filler and it changes on the next visit.
Can the machine support healthy-eating or school food policies?+
Yes. Product plans can be built to the NSW Healthy Food and Drink Framework, VIC Healthy Choices, QLD A Better Choice / Smart Choices, WA Traffic Light, SA Right Bite, ACT Healthy Food and Drink Policy or TAS Move Well Eat Well.
Can we brand the machine with our logo?+
For qualifying multi-machine or high-traffic sites, yes — the machine can be wrapped in your branding. Ask about it when you submit your request.
FAQ
Payments and cashless
Tap-to-pay, card data and whether cash is still an option.
How do staff pay?+
Cashless: contactless card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. No coins, no notes, no cash handling and no cash on site to attract theft.
Can the machine still take cash if we want it to?+
Cash acceptance can be fitted where a site genuinely needs it, but we default to cashless-only because it removes reconciliation work, vandalism risk and coin jams.
Do you keep any of our staff's payment data?+
No. Payments are processed by the certified payment terminal and its acquirer. The machine never stores card data, and we never see it.
FAQ
Install and site requirements
Timing, space, power and awkward access.
How long does installation take?+
Capital-city metro installs are typically 7–14 days from a qualified request. Major regional cities are 10–21 days. Remote and FIFO sites are scheduled with your next crew changeover, usually 3–6 weeks.
What do we need to provide on site?+
About 1 square metre of floor space against a wall, a standard 10 A power outlet within reach, and clear access for a trolley on install day. Nothing else.
What if the site is tricky — stairs, a lift, or soft ground?+
We handle it. Stair access, lift-only floors, hi-ab crane placement and soft landscaping are all routine — we do a free site check first and confirm the approach before install day.
Who decides where the machine goes?+
You do, with our recommendation. The site check looks at foot traffic, power access, ventilation and safe egress, then we confirm the final spot with you before delivery.
FAQ
Service, restocking and removal
Who keeps it full, who fixes it, and how to get it taken away.
Who restocks the machine?+
The operator does, on a scheduled route. Telemetry reports live stock levels, so restock frequency is matched to how fast your site actually sells rather than a fixed calendar.
What happens if it breaks or sells out?+
Machines are telemetry-monitored, so faults and low stock are flagged to the operations centre — usually before staff notice. On-site service is dispatched at no cost, typically within one business day in capital cities and 2–3 days regionally.
Can we get the machine removed?+
Any time, at no charge. There is no exit fee and no notice period.
FAQ
Coverage and lead times
Where we install and how quickly, from CBD towers to remote camps.
Which states and territories do you cover?+
All eight — NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, ACT, TAS and NT. Every capital and its metro suburbs, every major regional city, plus remote mining, agricultural, defence and infrastructure sites.
Do you install at regional and remote sites?+
Yes. Same free machine, same products, same cashless payment — the only difference is scheduling. Remote and FIFO sites are freighted with your next crew changeover and serviced on a scheduled cycle.
Can you handle a multi-site national rollout?+
Yes. One account manager coordinates installs across your entire Australian footprint under the same free program, with consolidated reporting and a single point of contact.
How do I check if my exact suburb is covered?+
Call 0401 662 678 or submit the request form with your postcode. We confirm install timing in under one business day.
