Canberra is a procurement market before it is a vending market. A large share of ACT sites are Commonwealth departments, defence establishments or national institutions, which means the question is rarely 'what does it cost' — it's whether the arrangement can be accepted at all when the answer is $0, who holds the liability, and whether technicians can be cleared for the building. Canberra, ACT workplaces vary hugely floor-to-floor — a 20-person studio and a 200-person distribution centre need different machines, not the same one twice. Canberra's workplace vending demand is dominated by employers you rarely see elsewhere in the same concentration: federal departments and agencies across the Parliamentary Triangle, Barton, Parkes and the town centres; Defence establishments including Russell and HMAS Harman; the ANU and University of Canberra campuses; and the health precincts at Garran and Bruce. Around them sit Fyshwick, Hume and Mitchell — the ACT's industrial and trade belt with an entirely different daily rhythm.
That mix changes the brief. Departmental buildings need compliance-friendly product policy and a documented access process. Campuses need machines that survive semester peaks and go quiet over summer. Fyshwick and Hume need cold drinks, savoury food and an early start.
Most Canberra installs involve a building manager, a security process, or both. We provide $20 million public and product liability certificates before install, use named and inducted crews, and book delivery windows through nominated entrances. Where escorted access is required, we plan for it rather than discovering it on the day. Because nothing is being purchased, government tenants frequently find the internal approval far simpler than they expected — there is no procurement threshold to clear for an asset that never becomes theirs.
For sites with device or network restrictions, machines run on their own mobile data path and connect to nothing on your network.
Canberra has genuine seasons, and the machines show it. Winter shifts demand towards hot-beverage options, snacks and substantial food; summer swings hard to chilled drinks and water. Campus sites drop off sharply outside teaching periods and we adjust stocking rather than leaving product to sit. Parliamentary sitting weeks visibly change volume in the Triangle, and we plan restocks around the sitting calendar for sites that are affected by it.
