A 310-staff food manufacturer in the Yatala Enterprise Area was losing 20–30 minutes per crew break to a service-centre run down the M1 on-ramp, and had been quoted $430 a month for a rented machine.
The challenge
Hygiene zoning ruled out any placement inside production. The site had also been burned by a coin machine that jammed weekly and sat dead for two months. Finance had already rejected a $430/month rental quote.
What we did
Placement outside the production envelope in the crib and locker area, agreed against the site's traffic-management plan. Cashless-only hardware with telemetry, plus a summer planogram weighted to water and electrolyte lines. Legacy coin machine removed at our cost.
The outcome
Live in 11 days. On-ramp break runs effectively stopped — the site's own timekeeping showed average break overrun falling from roughly 12 minutes to under 3. The $430/month line never appeared.
The objection was always cost, then it was hygiene zoning, then it was 'the last machine died and nobody came'. They answered all three before we signed anything, and the machine has never been empty.
